I have never been a fearful, anxious or apprehensive person. But sometimes situations can occur – life happens and you may find yourself in an environment that is ripe for such emotion to grow.
“Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication; with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God” – “and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4: 6-8
Anxiety is acknowledged in the word. An acknowledgement that it comes but when it does you shouldn’t entertain it.
“Be anxious for nothing” is a command not a request. The reality of abiding by this however is much harder . Grace is needed to remember that whatever the situation be always remember it may be difficult for you but it is not for God.
Being anxious implies that you have no confidence in Gods ability and strength – and that your issue is greater/ above the need to obey God’s word, to trust in Him wholeheartedly – without reservation.
Where anxiety has opportunity to grow – God provides peace that is beyond our understanding in order to deal and cope with that situation.
It’s a kind of peace that makes no sense to the human mind – because it is peace that God, who created the heavens and the earth, has total control over what ever is happening.
You may not be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel just yet. But rest in the knowledge that it is coming.
